Referral to City of Hope

My dad had completed his 4th and 5th treatments, when he began to realize that the pain in his stomach was not only the week before chemo treatments (like usual). My parents decided to follow up with the pain and took my dad to Loma Linda. After some testing and CAT SCANS, the doctors notified my parents to let them know that the cancer on my dad's pancreas had grown. The cancer is no longer responding to this type of chemo treatment, but has now grown larger than before. Now that my dad is on workman's comp, Dr. Nanda in the High Desert has placed a referral for my dad to City of Hope or UCLA. He had been denied before with insurance, but now that he has workman's comp, he will be allowed. Dr. Nanda has canceled my dad's last chemo treatment since it is no longer working. My dad will also be put in for bone marrow transplant as soon as possible. I am so thankful that my parents listened to that still small voice inside saying... check out the pain instead of medicating it. Please pray with us that my dad will get in to City of Hope asap and that all of the details will work out. My mom will be moving down there with him and probably living out of my Aunt's motorhome. Please keep them in your prayers. Pray that the doctors will find the right treatment for this cancer, which is a rare case of pancreatic lymphoma. My parents never cease to amaze me, as to how they draw their strength from God. They encourage me so much and I know are such an example to so many on how they live their lives. We appreciate all the prayers and support. My parents were so blessed by the benefit pancake breakfast that Apple Valley Sheriff's Department together with Applebees put on. They were so blessed by so many people coming out to help them. I love watching the way Papa provides.... always just in time. Thank you to all of you who have been such a blessing and support!
